Writing your own Wedding Vows

Posted on August 14, 2017 at 7:50 AM Comments comments (0)

The ideal of writing your own vows sounds easier than it is.

Here are some tips to keep in mind.

1. Read lots of vow examples for inspiration.

2. Agree on a format and tone.

Romantic? Humorous? Are you reading the same vows or different vows?

3. Jot down notes about your relationship.

When did you meet? Where did you meet? What do you miss most when you are not together?

What qualities do you admire?

4. Promises....make one promise or a bunchof promises.

Most couples start with "I promise..." and end with "Thank you for marrying me."

5. Write it out. 1-2 minutes only

6. Practice out loud.

7. Make a clean copy.

If you suddenly get choked up and can not read your vows, your Officiant can do it.

Messages in a Bottle

Collect messages in a bottle as your guest book.

Choose three anniversay years on bottles set up at your reception. Offer theme-appropriate colored Post-Its and pens so that guests can write you a note for the future. You can read their future wishes when celebrating your special anniversary.

Brian and Lisa are getting HITCHED

Posted on August 10, 2017 at 2:00 PM Comments comments (0)

Congratulations to high school sweethearts, Brian and Lisa. They have been together since 10th grade...a long 13 years ago. We always knew they were soulmates..made in heaven...destined to be together forever. Brian's proposal in June to my lovely daughter, Lisa, was a highlight for both our families.

September 9th is the big date. Virginia Beach, VA is the destination wedding location. I tried hard to get them HITCHED in Colonial Beach, VA. Lisa grew up at our beach home getaway during the past 22 years. However, Lisa's twin got married in Colonial Beach. Lisa wanted somewhere special that she didn't have to share. So we will be heading South for a beach wedding officiated by yours truly...me!

Follow our journey to September 9th!  More to come next BLOG.

Polishing your Ring Fingernail

Posted on July 27, 2017 at 7:35 AM Comments comments (0)

Help your partner out: Polish your ring fingernail a different color.

Quite often one or both partners hesitate when looking for that special ring finger during the Exchange of Rings.
Help your partner out by polishing your ring fingernail a different color. This works for men and and women.
Choose "something blue" as shown in our photo or choose your favorite color.
